Cathedral Grade School Equals Academic Excellence.
The education of our children is to many of us one of the
most critical aspects of our family lives. We are now
seeing in abundance, state governments slashing their
budgets and many public school districts in our area
struggling dramatically financially.
Cathedral Grade School is the alternative.
We stress many things here at Cathedral Grade School but we
are most proud of our ability to maintain high academic
standards and combine that with high moral values that lead
to strong integral formation. We believe strongly that every
child to be most successful, must have a very strong
foundation in reading, writing, mathematics and science. In
our recent Iowa Basic Skills examinations, involving over 35
fields of inquiry, our students finished at or above the
national average in all 35 categories, we scored in the top
20 % nationally in 5 of those categories, and in the top
25% nationally in 12 categories, we also had one student
finish in the top 1% nationally, those are phenomenal
results. Next year we are adding a foreign language
component
to our curriculum. Our computer technology, which
is already the best in the area, is getting ramped up with
more tools to allow greater interaction between our students,
teachers and our smart
boards. Art, music and physical education which are
already strong programs
are going to be improved upon even further by using more
technology in their particular curriculums. Every
homeroom teacher grades Pre-K through 8 is certified, and
they bring over 200 years of teaching experience,
discipline, energy, enthusiasm, and understanding to the
classroom.
Cathedral Grade School
is a haven for academic and athletic excellence in the St.
Louis metro east area. The state of Illinois even offers our
parents a $500 Education Expense Tax Credit to help parents
offset the cost of tuition, books and lab fees. If you
